A funeral will be held Labor Day for a Raleigh man who drowned in Lake Gaston in Halifax County in the early morning hours Aug. 28. Karl Besas, 24, drowned when he went for a midnight swim with friends. His body was found Wednesday afternoon after an intense search. After her funeral, pallbearers dressed in white carried the body of 11-year-old Briana Ojeda in a white casket, followed by her family. They, too, were dressed in white to symbolize the innocence of the little girl they called an angel. They laid her casket in a white and glass hearse adorned with pink and peach flowers drawn by white horses.
